The Decision
"Sorry, I offended you a lot already!", his message read. He couldn't flirt with her anymore. "I can't do this anymore" shouted his consciousness. Vexed with his own negative mindset he switched his phone off, threw it aside and went into thoughts. He went back to the time when he had a wonderful conditional relationship which had no conditions. He likes looking back into his past.
Really? He likes it? NO!
It was her, she really taught him the meaning of a "meaningful past".
She was a medical student. He always respected doctors, but he started loving this one. Just like in the movies, his date was setup by his common friend. They slowly started liking each other. The chemistry between them looked as if they were scripted for one of his Romantic love stories, but little did he know his life would be like one of the stories he is going to write. Oh, he was a great writer by the way. They got close as two hesitant hearts but parted like two complete souls. Such is the magic their relationship had. Of all the moments they spent together, two things were the most memorable ones - a letter he wrote for her birthday, a book she gifted for his birthday. Short and sweet moments would feed his soul, happiness is all he wanted.
Like all great love stories end in pain, even this did. Would he really care about her even after they broke up?
Well he did, he always had a soft corner for love. Actually soft corner would be the wrong word, he always had an obsession towards love. The idea of belonging to someone always comforted him. Being loved, showering love were the qualities he always possessed. He was always in search of magic. He still remembers what she said while giving him the book -"Don't fill it with stories, fill it with memories worth looking back". Since that day he started to wonder what to write in it. So he started writing about someone whom he loves the most. Himself! He continued writing, one day when he looked back, he realized there was no page about the girl. He stopped there. He couldn't make any memories since that day. That's when he took "The Decision"
Since that day, magic had a new definition, love had a new form. When he kept searching for love, all he found was magic. When he wanted magic, all he found was betrayal.
All his positive thoughts turned negative, he started rejecting love. He turned into a rock which would never melt, until he talked to this person. That one line from her brought him back to life. He asked her "What are your expectations from the guy you want? " She replied "I don't have any. Because if I expect something and don't get it, I can't let that sadness sink in. Hence, no expectations." His negativity just got defeated by all the optimism in that answer. Having been with many girls he came to a conclusion. It's magic only until the feeling of love is let out either by the girl or the guy. Once they let it out, no trace of magic is left, it's the bond between them that holds them together. He was tired being held by such bonds. He has decided to stay in the magical zone until forever.
All that really mattered to him was "The Decision".
